DENVER — There’s a field of sunflowers in the Denver metro area that’s been photographed numerous times and is becoming very popular on social media.

The field, which features multiple rows of sunflowers, the Rocky Mountains, and Denver International Airport in the background, has been posted dozens of times to Denver7's Our Colorado | Through Your Photos Facebook Page.

A few visitors to the page commented on those photos and asked where to find the field and how to snap a few pictures of their own.

So Denver7 went in search of this picturesque place and found it east of Denver International Airport, right off of 96th Avenue.

There’s more than one sunflower field in the area, but picture-seekers beware: The fields are private property. Some of the fields are owned by the airport and leased to local farmers.

The airport told us those who want to take pics are welcome to, but they must safely pull off the road and stick to the shoulder of the road.

The airport also said they do not want visitors walking through the fields without permission from the farmers who lease the property.

Denver7 is committed to exploring the growth we are all experiencing in Our Colorado. We want to know what you're seeing and what questions you have about what's to come in your community. If you notice a new project and you want to know more, email us at OurCO@TheDenverChannel.comand ask, "What's that?" Every week, we'll take your questions and see what we can find out.
