DENVER — The River North Art District definitely has its own distinct vibe, and a planned new development is hoping to add to it.

“We owe a lot of that to our neighbors. We owe a lot of that to the artists,” said Tai Beldock, co-owner of Erico Motorsports.

John and Tai Beldock own the Walnut Street motorcycle shop and the block of land it sits on.

They’ve been in RiNo since 1999 and know that original flavor.

“We’re super passionate about this neighborhood,” said Tai Beldock.

The couple is working on transforming their block of Walnut Street into a pedestrian-friendly space they are calling “Octane Alley.”

“I think for my vision of the space is that you’re able to walk down a pedestrian on the alley. You can come in here and grab a cider at Stem or a beverage at another location and meet in the middle and share the experience of being in Octane Alley,” said Tai Beldock.

The development will also include green space and six shipping containers that will sell food and beverages.

Two garages will be demolished during the transformation, but everything else will remain.

The Beldocks hope to have Octane Alley open by this year.
