National Coffee Day brings grounds for celebration, deals Saturday

A favorite way to start the day for many is a cup of coffee. Whether you like your morning brew straight with cream and sugar, or frilled with whipped cream and caramel drizzle, there are many places in the Denver area to enjoy coffee. So, it’s no surprise that National Coffee Day has caught the attention of many coffee shops — both chains and local cafes — that are eager to offer discounts for its customers. Here is a list of local deals and freebies for National Coffee Day.

What: Bruegger’s Bagels

Where: Multiple locations

Deal information: With any purchase, customers can claim a free medium hot or iced drip coffee on Saturday.

 

What: Einstein Bros. Bagels

Where: Select Denver-area locations

Deal information: Einstein Bros. Bagels is giving away one free cup of Caribou Coffee to each of its guests at Denver-area locations with the purchase of a food item, like a bagel, sandwich or bakery item. This offer is available at stores that have integrated with Caribou Coffee, and excludes some stores inside colleges, hotels, airports and hospitals. The company is encouraging guests to share photos of their cup of joe with the hashtag #NationalCoffeeDay and tagging @einsteinbros.

 

What: Caribou Coffee

Where: 11 locations in the Denver area

Deal information: Caribou Coffee is offering a free “coffee of the day,” any size, to guests who buy any food item. Guests are encouraged to take photos of them enjoying the drink with the hashtag #NationalCoffeeDay and tag @cariboucoffee.

 

What: Krispy Kreme

Where: Multiple locations

Deal information: Guests can grab a free coffee Saturday at this popular chain donut shop. 

 

What: Scooter’s Coffee

Where: 1951 W. 5th Avenue, Broomfield (Highway 287 and W. 5th Avenue)

Deal information: The Midwest-based coffee franchise will offer free, hot brewed coffee of any size at their Broomfield location. Scooter’s Coffee fans can upload a coffee selfie to Instagram or Twitter and hashtag #ScootersCoffeeDay. The company will review the posts and select winners at random for Scooter’s Coffee swag, gift cards and more.

 

What: Dutch Bros

Where: 6671 W. Colfax Ave., Lakewood

Deal information: The drive-through chain is celebrating National Coffee Day with its annual Buck For Kids event. The company will donate $1 from each drink sold at its Lakewood location to the nonprofit Gold Crown Foundation, offers sports and education programs to nearly 20,000 children each year in Colorado and surrounding states. Dutch Bros has raised about $93,000 from its first Buck For Kids in 2006.

 

What: Denver VooDoo Doughnut

Where: 1520 E Colfax Ave., Denver

Deal information: VooDoo Doughnut will give away free High Brew Coffee, a canned cold brew with twice the caffeine of a regular cup of coffee, to guests Saturday. This deal is only valid 7-9 a.m. with the purchase of a donut. High Brew Coffee flavors include options like Black & Bold, Mexican Vanilla and Double Espresso.

 

What: Grabbagreen

Where: Three Denver-area locations

Deal information: Grabbagreen will celebrate National Coffee Day with $3 cold brew coffees. The $3 offer is for all three cold brew options: iced, nutty and super brew. Grabbagreen’s cold brew is made with Chameleon Cold Brew which is a consciously crafted, organic coffee focused on ethically sourced and sustainable coffee practices. The cold brew options typically cost $4-$6.   

 

What: Dunkin’

Where: Locations around the Denver-area

Deal information: Dunkin’ lovers can buy one hot coffee and get a second one for free Saturday. (And if you missed it, Dunkin’ officially dropped “Donuts” from its name nationwide)

 

What: Barnes & Noble

Where: Multiple locations

Deal information: The bookstore cafes will give a free cup of tall or hot iced coffee all Saturday, according to USA Today.

 

What: LaMar’s Donuts & Coffee

Where: Locations around the Denver area

Deal information: LaMar’s is offering coffee drinkers a free cup on Saturday. Anybody who buys a 16-ounce LaMar’s reusable travel mug for $1.19 will get it filled with coffee for free. These travel mugs are available at participating locations while supplies last. Guests can chose between LaMar’s Original Blend, Light or Dark Roast, regular or decaffeinated.

 

What: Boyer’s Coffee

Where: 7295 Washington St, Denver

Deal information: From 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday, coffee lovers can enjoy a free cup of drip coffee or 50 percent off prepared and specialty drinks at Boyer’s. In addition, guests have the chance to win prizes, listen to live music and grab a bite at food trucks. Click here for more information.
