ROCKY MOUNTAIN NATIONAL PARK, Colo. -- More volunteers are joining in the continued search efforts Saturday for a missing Air Force Cadet candidate near Longs Peak. Micah Tice, 20, disappeared one week ago.
Park visitors said Tice was seen in the Battle Mountain area last Saturday morning. The weather and visibility that day continued to get worse with blizzard conditions and high winds. Since then, the search area has covered 10 square miles in Rocky Mountain National Park.
Wintry conditions continue in the high country, with moderate warnings issued for the possibility of avalanches, the Colorado Avalanche Information Center website states.
Park rangers are asking anyone who has hiked Longs Peak in the last week or anyone who has been in contact with Tice in recent weeks to get in touch with them. Contact information below:
Rocky Mountain National Park at 970-586-1204, the Air Force Academy at 719-375-4111 or Colorado Springs police at 719-444-7000.
Family members are also asking for more volunteers to assist in the search. They need people who are experienced hikers and have the proper gear to hike in the snow, ice and wind.
