GUNNISON COUNTY, Colo. – Skiers triggered an avalanche near Crested Butte over the weekend, as officials warned that avalanche conditions continued to be dangerous for Colorado’s high country Sunday.

Officials with the Colorado Avalanche Information Center tweeted the avalanche pictured above was triggered in a southeast-facing slope near Crested Butte.

No additional information was immediately available.

Avalanche danger continues to be moderate to considerable for several parts of the high country, according to the Colorado Avalanche Information Center (CAIC).
