Ski patrollers on Aspen Mountain say they're cracking down on people skiing too fast on Ajax and straight-lining through congested areas.
The Aspen Daily News reports that several skiers have written letters to local newspapers complaining about people behaving recklessly on the slopes.
An avalanche technician with the Aspen Mountain Ski Patrol says the patrol has been listening to the complaints and trying to make a difference.
The technician, Steve Rausch, says ski patrollers regularly pull aside people skiing too fast and have a conversation about safety, respect and giving other skiers enough space. But he says he also doesn't hesitate to pull passes from skiers causing problems.
Rausch says the ski patrol has also introduced new, easier-to-spot uniforms with neon orange patches.
