Longmont Police Looking For Bank Robber

Culprit Described As White, In His 20s

Longmont Police said they are searching for a man who robbed an Academy Bank on Friday evening.

Longmont police said a man entered the Academy Bank inside of a Super Walmart located at 2514 Main Street and confronted the bank teller. Police said the man asked for all the money.

The man ran from the bank with an unknown amount of money and fled in a dark-colored car.

Police said that the car was last seen heading north on U.S. Highway 287.

The man was described as white, in his 20s, with blond hair, and a thin beard that runs along his jaw line. Longmont police did not say if the man produced a weapon or not.

Surveillance video showed the man wearing a white ball cap, dark jacket with a diagonal stripe, dark pants, and sunglasses at the time of the robbery. Detectives said the jacket could also be a zip-up sweatshirt.

Longmont police are asking anyone with information on this bank robbery to call them at 303-651-8501, or Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers at 800-222-TIPS (8477). People providing information to Northern Colorado Crime Stoppers that lead to the arrest could receive up to $1,000 reward and remain anonymous.

The FBI is assisting with the investigation and will also offer a cash reward for information that leads to the arrest. Tips can also be provided to the Boulder County Crime Stoppers via the internet at www.crimeshurt.com.
