Woman's body found in Boulder pond

(UPDATE 6:40 a.m. Wednesday) The Boulder County Coroner's Office has identified the woman as 33-year-old Marguerite Banker of Boulder. Cause and manner of death are still under investigation


BOULDER, Colo. — Members of a dive team recovered the body of a woman from a Boulder pond Monday.

The woman’s body was found in the East Boulder pond adjacent to the East Boulder Dog Park, located at 5440 Sioux Drive. 

According to a statement from the Boulder Police Department, family members became concerned when the woman did not show up for a doctor’s appointment.

Police were called, and they immediately began searching both from the ground and air and located a fishing pole partially submerged in the water and a chair nearby.

Her body was located around 1:30 p.m. and transported to a nearby hospital where she was pronounced dead. 

The Boulder County Coroner’s Office has yet to positively identify the woman.
