ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A woman is facing charges for her alleged involvement in a crash that killed a couple on a motorcycle.

The 17th Judicial District Attorney's Office charged Dillan Avis, 26, with two counts of careless driving resulting in death. The office said Avis was driving a Ford Escape when she collided with the couple, Michael Schaff, 44, and Krisi Schaff, 43, on their motorcycle. The crash happened Sept. 26 at the intersection of 104th Avenue and Washington Street in Thornton. The Schaffs died at the scene.

The Schaffs had three children under the age of 21. Tony Schaff, 20, spoke to Denver7 after the loss of his parents and said he will do what he can to keep a roof over his younger siblings' heads. Michael's boss at A-Shed USA, Wyndy Dominy, set up a GoFundMe to help.

Avis is scheduled to be in Adams County Court on Nov. 24.
