GOLDEN, Colo. – A woman accused of killing a man at his home in Golden in 2017 alongside her husband was extradited back to Colorado to face murder and other charges.
Kathleen Boutain, 25, arrived back in Jefferson County Tuesday after she was extradited from Utah. She faces felony murder and multiple counts of aggravated robbery and aggravated motor vehicle theft counts, among others, in the death of 63-year-old Mitchell Ingle in Golden.
Boutain’s husband, Austin Boutain, pleaded guilty late last month to murder and aggravated robbery in the case. Prosecutors say the three were drinking and smoking marijuana together in Ingle’s trailer in October 2017 when Austin allegedly slit his throat after he got mad when he and his wife were propositioned for sex, according to an affidavit.
The Boutains then drove to Salt Lake City, where Austin killed University of Utah student ChenWei Guo. Austin was sentenced to life in prison in Guo’s death and Kathleen was sentenced to one year in jail for her role.
The district attorney’s office says Kathleen Boutain is scheduled to appear in court for advisement on Wednesday morning.
