DENVER — The estimated $768.4 million Powerball jackpot was won by a single ticket purchased in Wisconsin, but Colorado wasn’t left out of Wednesday's Powerball frenzy.
Four Colorado tickets won a total of $500,000 after the drawing. Three $150,000 winning tickets were sold in Fruita, Aurora and Lakewood. And a $50,000 winning ticket was sold in Franktown.
The jackpot-winning ticket was sold at a gas station in a Milwaukee suburb, lottery officials announced Thursday. The Wisconsin ticket is worth a cash option of $477 million.
The winning numbers were 16, 20, 37, 44 and 62. The Powerball number was 12.
Wednesday's jackpot was the third largest in U.S. lottery history.
