DENVER – Good morning, everyone! Here’s what you need to know today on Friday, October 13.

1. Grim work begins in wildfires' wake
Search-and-rescue teams, some with cadaver dogs, start looking for bodies in parts of California wine country devastated by wildfires.

2. Pres. Trump nixes key part of Affordable Care Act
President Donald Trump announced that he plans to end Obamacare subsidies that helped people pay for health insurance coverage. Nearly 6 million enrollees, or 57 percent, qualify for the cost-sharing payments this year, according to the most recent data from the Department of Health and Human Services.

3. Adult obesity reaches all-time high
Nearly 40% of adults and 19% of youth are obese, the highest rate the country has ever seen in all adults, according to research released Friday by the National Center for Health Statistics.

4. It’s Friday the 13th!
Today is considered by some to the be the unluckiest day of the year. According to anthropologists, the superstition may have originated with Christians during the Middle Ages. 

5. Cooler air moves in
A weak cold front will move into the state on Friday, bringing some cooler air and a few showers to the area as the weekend begins.
