MEDICINE BOW NATIONAL FOREST, Wyo. (AP) — A fire in the Medicine Bow National Forest has forced the evacuation of roughly 25 homes in the communities of Keystone and Rambler.
Holiday campers have been warned to leave a campground just south and west of Rob Roy Reservoir. The Laramie Boomerang reports that the wildfire is smaller than a square mile but is near homes and is entirely uncontained Tuesday.
The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
Forest Service Spokesman Aaron Voos said thunderstorms were observed moving through the area during the weekend.
Fire crews from both the Forest Service and Albany County were working the blaze Monday. No structures have been harmed.
Voos told the newspaper that holiday visitors to Medicine Bow National Forest would see road closures and delays because of the blaze.
