Why people are wearing safety pins

You might see a lot of people with safety pins on their clothes after this election.

It's a symbol that emerged after the Brexit vote, but now it's making its way to the United States after the election.

It's a way for advocates and allies to show support for people in the LBGT community, minorities and women who feel threatened.

It lets those people know they can feel safe with them if they are in situations that make them fearful.

Other forms of therapy for those upset with the election results are showing up in New York subway stations.

An artist has put up Post-Its for people to write out their frustrations and post them to the wall of the station.
