Like everything else in 2020, this year's Fourth of July celebrations will be a little different than usual. Many towns across Colorado have canceled firework shows, due to the COVID-19 crisis, and our recent drought has also complicated the celebration plans.
Denver's annual shows at Civic Center Park, Coors Field and Elitch Gardens have all been canceled, as well as in cities across the Front Range, including Fort Collins, Boulder and Aurora.
Still, in dozens of cities, the show will go on. Click on the links below for more detailed information, but keep in mind — many of the firework shows in Colorado this year are designed to be viewed from your home or hotel or another socially distant location, to avoid large public gatherings.
Valley Country Club will hold a firework show about 9 p.m. Saturday. The event at the course is private but if you're in the Aurora or Centennial area, you'll be able to see the show.
Fireworks start at 9:15 p.m. There will be no dedicated viewing or parking areas, but a staging area will be in the center of Waggener Farm Park with a ‘safe zone’ surrounding the property: Bunyan Avenue to the north, Mountain Avenue to the south, Berthoud Parkway to the west, and the park border to the east which includes the middle school football field. All residents will be restricted from entering the ‘safe zone.’
Fireworks only, beginning at dusk. Residents are encouraged to watch from their homes, looking toward East Brighton for the show. The city will also broadcast the show on KBRI-8 (Comcast 8 and 881).
The city’s 4th of July Parade and Art in the Park is cancelled but there will still be a fireworks display.

The city's annual 4th of July Symphony in The Park is switching to a different format this year. Instead residents can view one of 10 different shows across El Paso County, all synced to the music of the Colorado Springs Philharmonic.

Fireworks begin at dark following the town’s street festival during the day.
A “drive-in” firework show will start about 20 minutes after dusk. Spectators are encouraged to remain in their cars while watching the fireworks, which will be set off south of Myers Avenue.
DELTA — July 4
The Delta Volunteer Fire Department will put on a firework show at dark from Confluence Park. Spectators are encouraged to view the show from their home.
Fireworks from Saddleback Golf Course will begin at 9:30 p.m. They’ll be visible from Miner’s Park.
Firework show will be held near the recreation center at 203 S. Harrison Avenue, at dusk.
Firework show will be held at Snooks Bottom Open Space, but you can view the show from town. Event dependent on current fire restrictions and weather.
Fireworks will begin about 9:30 p.m. and can be viewed from Island Grove Park.

SALIDA — July 4
A fireworks show will begin at 9:30 p.m. and launch from Tenderfoot Mountain, or "S" Mountain. Spectators are encouraged to watch from their homes or cars to maintain social distancing, and wear a mask if outdoors.
Fireworks begin at 9:30 p.m., following the Rockin’ the Rio Grande rodeo at Rickle Arena. Fireworks will be set off from the golf course and can be viewed across town.
The city’s Fourth of July celebration will feature music and fireworks Saturday evening.
Vail America Days will hold a fireworks show at 9:45 p.m. Residents and visitors are encouraged to view the show from their hotel or lodge, if they have a view of Vail Mountain. The show can also be viewed from parking areas along Frontage Road (no stopping or viewing from I-70), Lionshead Ski Yard, Mountain Plaza Ski Yard, lower lawn on Golden Peak or a nearby neighborhood.
Wellington’s annual 4th of July celebration at Centennial Park will include a fireworks show at dusk, around 9 p.m.
Fireworks will be launched about 9:10 p.m. from near Poudre River Trail and New Liberty Road, an area considered to be the highest in town. The city said many residents should be able to view the shows from their home. Others are encouraged to maintain social distancing in public spaces to watch the show.
