BOULDER, Colo. – Some in Boulder will be showing up for work Wednesday morning a little wet as the 11th annual Tube to Work Day gets underway.
The unique event is a chance for commuters (often wearing business attire) to tube down Boulder Creek. It began by two men eleven years ago.
Wednesday’s commute on the creek may a get a little congested. The event drew more 1,000 participants last year.

Here’s what you need to know if you want to participate in the event:
Event begins at Boulder park
Participants will meet at Eben G. Fine Park at 8 a.m. Wednesday.
Participants will need to sign a waiver
If you want to take part in the event, you will need to sign a waiver. You can sign the waiver on the day of the event (Wednesday), but if you want to avoid lines, you can sign an online waiver, but it must be done by 10 p.m. today.
The event is free for participants
There is no charge for Tube to Work Day. However, organizers encourage participants to donate to the Boulder Shelter for the Homeless.
Bring your gear
Participants will need to bring their own inner tubes and helmets (which are mandatory). Closed-toed footwear will also be required. Organizers also suggest participants bring life jackets and wetsuits.
Free breakfast!
Tubing to work has its perks! A free breakfast will be served at Central Park.
