1. Westminster shooting suspect in court
This morning, the man accused of shooting and killing a 13-year-old boy and injuring his mother, brother and one other person, is set to appear in court. Jeremy Webster confessed to police that he shot the family after a road rage incident in Westminster last week.
2. First of two gubernatorial debates tonight
Denver7 and The Denver Post are teaming up for a pair of debates between the Democrats and Republicans vying to be Colorado's next governor. The first debate, between the Democratic candidates, takes place tonight at 6 p.m. The Republican candidates will debate on Tuesday night.
3. Be sure to only vote on one ballot
For the first year, unaffiliated voters can cast a ballot in the Democratic or Republican primaries and that's causing some confusion. Those voters can only cast ONE ballot, though they've received both. Elections officials in Denver say they've had to throw out several hundred ballots because people returned both.
4. Rain helping firefighting efforts
Rainfall over the weekend helped firefighters get a better hand on the various wildfires burning across Colorado. People forced out of their homes by the 416 Fire in southwestern Colorado were allowed to return home for the first time in two weeks on Sunday. That fire was 30 percent contained as of Sunday night but we expect to get updated numbers this morning.
5. More rain on the way
We're off to a cool and damp start this week. Expect cool, cloudy and rainy conditions to stick around through Wednesday, then temps will climb back into the 80s.
