BOULDER, Colo. — As you start to make your New Year’s fitness resolutions, there may be one exercise you’re most likely to stick with: walking.

Boulder Community Health cardiologist Dr. Nelson Trujillo says walking is one of the best activities for your overall health.

“We were designed to walk,” says Dr. Trujillo. “It’s really the best activity for all your bones, all your muscles.”

Our bodies are capable of walking for long distances, but Dr. Trujillo says just 20-30 minutes per day, every day, can be beneficial.

“We were sort of designed to walk at about 3.5 miles per hour,” says Dr. Trujillo.

Boulder Community Health also offers the “Walk with a Doc” program once a month. The first event in 2018 is on January 13th, at Flatiron Crossing in Broomfield. Each event will have a doctor on hand to talk to lead the walk and talk about benefits of walking.  You can see a list of events here:  bch.org/walkwithadoc[bch.org].
