DENVER — Not days after racially charged violence and protests in Charlottesville, Virginia, a homeowner in Denver's Cherry Creek neighborhood reported racist graffiti plastered on his front door.

Wishing only to be called Miles out of concern for his safety, the resident of the Mountain Shadows Condos complex said at least one vandal painted the 'n-word' on his front door two times.

The man first noticed the graffiti when he returned home on Sunday night and he has since called police.

"People need to know racism isn't just happening in Charlottesville, it's alive and well here in Denver, too," Miles told Denver7.

Although the racially charged protests filled headlines over the weekend, protestors in Denver called for peace and equality on Sunday.
