DENVER -- A growing wildfire burning in southwest Utah is causing hazy skies in Colorado.

The more than 10,000-acre fire is burning near the ski resort town of Brian Head and has forced hundreds out of their homes. Officials say the fire was started by somebody using a torch to kill weeds.

Some of the smoke from the fire is moving east into Colorado, mainly in the western and southern parts of the state.

The Colorado Department of Health and Environment says public health impacts are expected to be minimal.

The smoke and haze should gradually dissipate during the late morning and into the early afternoon hours Friday as atmospheric mixing increases.
