DENVER — Federal authorities and Denver firefighters are investigating at the federal building downtown after a white powder was discovered in the mail room Thursday afternoon. Authorities are working to identify it, but said it is not harmful.
The call about the discovery of the powder at the Byron Rogers Federal Building, which is located near 19th and Stout streets, came in around 11:20 a.m., a Denver Fire Department spokesperson said.
Several people were outside of the courthouse, along with investigators, but Denver Fire said it was not sure if the courthouse was evacuated.
Officials are holding and evaluating anyone who might have been affected, Denver Fire said.
