DENVER — One of Denver’s most iconic music festivals is canceled this year, but the show will go on in a different capacity.
Denver’s three-day Underground Music Showcase (UMS) is canceled, organizers announced Tuesday.
According to its website, the UMS “as we know and love is out of the question for this year” due to the novel coronavirus. It was scheduled for July 24-26.
The UMS supports venues and artists in the Broadway and Baker neighborhoods and, as a major economic force, organizers say they’re not about to shy away when those people need the festival’s support the most.
So, the show will go on as Underground Music Something.
What is that, exactly? The organizers said they are still working to figure it out, but it’s planned for Saturday, July 25.
The July event invites any music lover to “mark your calendar for Saturday, July 25th as we set out to do two things: raise money and rage safely,” per UMS’s website.
According to The Denver Post, this would have been UMS’s 20th annual celebration.
