AURORA, Colo. — Two people were found dead in an Aurora residence early Friday morning after police received a report of gunshots.

Officer Anthony Camacho with the Aurora Police Department said around 3:30 a.m., the department received a call about gunshots heard inside a residence on the 1500 block of S. Sable Boulevard. When officers arrived, they learned that people inside the residence woke up to the gunshots and called their family members who were not at that residence. Those family members called police.

Officers found two deceased people inside the residence. In a news release early Friday afternoon, investigators said they determined that the two people inside the home knew each other. No other details were provided.

Camacho said they do not believe there were any other fatalities or a lingering threat to the public.
