1. Thai cave rescue operation underway
Rescue crews are making progress removing boys from a cave in Thailand where they've been stuck for over two weeks. At last count, seven boys had been rescued, leaving five more boys and their coach still in the cave.
2. Pres. Trump to announce SCOTUS pick
President Donald Trump will announce his choice to fill the open seat on the U.S. Supreme Court left by Justice Anthony Kennedy's retirement. Trump is scheduled to make the announcement at 7 p.m. MT.
3. Fires continue to burn across Colorado
Firefighters will continue to battle several large fires burning in Colorado this week . The largest of the fires, the Spring Fire in southern Colorado, was nearly 107,000 acres as of Sunday.
4. Denver to decide on parks tax measure
The Denver City Council will decide today whether to put a measure on November's ballot that would raise taxes to pay for parks. The tax, less than three cents on every $10 spent, would raise about $46 million for Denver parks, which are facing a $127 million backlog.
5. Hot and dry weather ahead
We'll see plenty of sunshine this morning, with 80s by 10 a.m. and highs in the mid- to upper-90s by 3 p.m. The weather forecast will not change much into early next week -- hot & dry for the plains, afternoon storms for the mountains.
