SAGUACHE COUNTY, Colo. — A 13-year-old who was seen getting into a SUV in Saguache County on Sunday has not been seen since.

The Saguache County Sheriff's Office has issued an alert for Cara Poland, who's considered endangered and hasn't been seen since 5:15 p.m. Sunday.

She is described as a white girl standing about 5 feet, 5 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. She has brown eyes and short brown hair. She was last seen in black pants, a black hoodie and tan or black shoes. At that time, she was leaving her home along the 25000 block of Ford Avenue in Moffat.

The sheriff's office said she got into a light-colored Cadillac SUV that is missing a front license plate. Authorities could not see the unknown rear license plate.

The sheriff's office learned that Poland may be headed to Chicago or North Carolina with a person she met on Instagram.

The sheriff's office said later Monday that they were interviewing people but had not made an arrest. A spokesperson said officials had a description of the suspect but were not ready to distribute that information as of 1:30 p.m. Monday.

The spokesperson said "somehow" that a ride was arranged for the girl and that the Colorado Bureau of Investigation was involved.

Anybody with information on her whereabouts is asked to call Deputy Quintero at 719-655-2544 or the sheriff's office at 719-655-2525.
