DENVER – A portion of Broadway temporarily closed at 70th Avenue Monday morning due to a suspicious package, which police later learned was not dangerous.

The Adams County Sheriff’s Office and the Colorado State Patrol responded after receiving a call around 5:45 a.m. Deputies said the bomb squad had been dispatched to the scene.

Authorities later said they learned the bag was not suspicious, but was simply a duffle bag of clothes with a laptop inside.
