COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – The El Paso County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a suspect who fled police Monday morning and crashed into a rock in front of an apartment complex.

The suspect vehicle allegedly blew through a red light in Colorado Springs around 10:30 a.m. Monday. A sheriff’s deputy tried to stop the vehicle, a white Mitsubishi Montero, but it drove off too fast for the deputy to follow.

Shortly afterward, the SUV crashed into a rock in front of Arbor Point Apartments on Hancock Expressway and the driver fled.

The suspect, described as a black of Hispanic man last seen wearing jeans, a grey sweatshirt and red Converses, was last seen in the area.

The sheriff’s office asks anyone who sees the man to call 911.
