Survey: Colorado is 5th most popular domestic vacation destination

DENVER – Colorado is one of the most popular destinations for vacationers looking to stay in the United States.

That’s according to personal finance blog The Cashlorette, which surveyed about 1,000 people to find out their vacation preferences, both international and domestic.

The site found that Colorado is the fifth most desired state. Hawaii was ranked the top domestic destination, followed by Florida and California, demonstrating that people are looking to vacation in warm locales.

Here are the top five domestic vacation destinations, according to The Cashlorette’s survey:

1.    Hawaii
2.    Florida
3.    California
4.    Alaska
5.    Colorado

Among international destinations, Italy, Australia, France, the United Kingdom and Ireland were the most popular choices.

The survey also found that 47 percent of respondents are interested in traveling solo, with 28 percent saying they already have done so and 19 percent saying they would like to someday.
