GARFIELD COUNTY, Colo. — A 48-year-old skier from Maryland died Tuesday at Sunlight Mountain Resort and Ski Area near Glenwood Springs.

Other people on the mountain found a skier unresponsive at the bottom of a tree on Tuesday and started CPR until Sunlight Ski Patrol arrived. The skier was transported to a first aid area and then into a Glenwood Springs Fire Department ambulance. He was declared deceased.

The Garfield County Coroner’s Office identified the man as 48-year-old Job Henning of Bethesda, Maryland.

An autopsy found that the cause of death was blunt force injuries to the head and the manner of death was determined as an accident.

He had been on vacation with his wife and two children. The coroner's office said he had been skiing with his teenage daughter, who was farther downhill and didn't see the incident.
