The suspect who fired a shot at a deputy in Arapahoe County Sunday night was found dead inside the home Monday morning, after an-all night standoff.

A SWAT team was deployed to the home near East Hampden Avenue and South Himalaya Street.

Loud bangs could be heard as Denver7's Jason Gruenauer reported live from the scene at 5:45 a.m.

Gruenauer later confirmed the sounds he heard were OC gas grenades.

You can see the gas being deployed in video and photos attached above.

Hampden Avenue was closed between South Himalaya Street and South Liverpool Street during the standoff. The street reopened at about 8 a.m.

Residents in several neighboring homes were evacuated or warned to shelter in place, the Arapahoe County Sheriff's Office said.

The situation started at about 9 p.m. Sunday.

Deputies were called to do a welfare check on a man in the home.

Investigators say that's when someone fired a shot at the deputies. No one was hit by the shot.

The deputies did not return fire.
