DENVER – The Adams County Sheriff’s Office is trying to locate a driver who allegedly tried to hit a deputy Wednesday morning.

The deputy had attempted to stop a vehicle in a parking lot near 58th and Broadway around 4:20 a.m. but when the deputy approached, the driver sped toward the deputy, officials said.

The deputy then fired a shot at the vehicle. It’s unclear if the bullet hit the driver. The deputy was not hurt.

Deputies said the vehicle in question is a silver four-door Honda Civic with Colorado license plate SRQ-316. The car was last seen heading east on 58th Avenue.

Deputies said another suspect vehicle, a white four-door sedan, also left the scene.

Anyone who spots either vehicle is asked to contact the Adams County Sheriff’s Office or call 911.
