A second Colorado man has died after a large cottonwood tree fell on top of a group of three men at a western Nebraska lake.

The Scotts Bluff County Attorney's office tells the Star-Herald that 44-year-old Mark Pennell died at the hospital Tuesday.

Pennell, of Lakewood, Colorado, was injured Sunday at Lake Minatare State Recreation Area when the tree fell on the group. A tractor was used to free two of the men.

Forty-nine-year-old Matthew Weaver, of Loveland, Colorado, died Sunday.

Thirty-one-year-old Daniel Randall, of Bayard, was also hurt, but he has been released from the hospital.
