DENVER — The Regional Transportation District’s Board of Directors Tuesday night approved an across-the-board fare increase that takes effect starting early next year.
Under the new fare schedule, the price of a ticket to the airport will go up by $1.50 to a total of $10.50. Local fares would bump up to $3 and regional fares would cost $5.25.
The increase in bus and light rail fares would help provide a 40 percent discount to low-income riders.
Changes would be implemented starting in January, with the low-income program estimated to begin in July.
