Good morning. Here are 5 Things to Know for Tuesday, July 17, 2018.

1. Pres. Trump faces Helsinki backlash
Today, President Trump will meet with members of Congress following his week-long trip overseas. Much of the focus of conversation will likely be Trump's meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Trump has faced criticism from both sides of the aisle for casting doubt on U.S. intelligence and seeming to side with Putin on the issue of whether Russia meddled in the 2016 election.

2. Rocky Flats hearing today
Just about two months before the old Rocky Flats nuclear site is set to open to the public, a federal judge will hear new evidence from people opposed to opening the site. Environmental groups want independent research to be done on the soil to determine if it's really safe.

3. Memorial for teen stabbing victim
A memorial service is planned today to honor 17-year-old Reese Grant-Cobb, who was stabbed to death outside the Bourbon Grill on East Colfax earlier this month. Family and friends plan to gather at City Park at 2:30 p.m.

4. City Council approves parks tax proposal
Denver voters in November will get to decide whether to increase sales tax to help pay for parks projects. The Denver City Council voted Monday night to approve the ballot proposal. The tax hike means people would pay about 2.5 cents more for every $10 they spend in Denver.

5. Strong storms possible today
As things heat up today, widely scattered storms and showers will develop in the mountains. A few of these storms will roll east over I-25 and could turn severe as they pick up some steam. There is a marginal risk of large hail and damaging winds across all of northeastern Colorado and that does include the Denver metro area.
