DENVER — Colorado Ski Country USA (CSCUSA) has opened registration for two popular programs that offer discounts for youth and adult skiers and snowboarders.
Registration is now underway for the CSCUSA 5th and 6th Grade Passport Program and the Colorado Gems Card for the upcoming winter.
The Passport Program offers three days of free skiing or snowboarding at 22 ski areas across Colorado for fifth graders. Sixth graders get four days of skiing at any of those same ski areas for $105, equating to 88 possible days on the slopes for less than $1.20 a day. That price increases to $125 on Jan. 31.
In addition, fifth graders who have never skied or snowboarded before are eligible for one free lesson and equipment rental.

Participating areas for this season’s passport program include Arapahoe Basin Ski Area, Aspen Highlands, Aspen Mountain, Buttermilk, Cooper, Copper Mountain, Echo Mountain Resort, Eldora Mountain, Granby Ranch, Howelsen Hill, Hesperus Ski Area, Kendall Mountain, Loveland Ski Area, Monarch Mountain, Powderhorn Mountain Resort, Purgatory Resort, Aspen Snowmass, Steamboat Resort, Sunlight Mountain Ski Resort, Telluride Ski Resort, Winter Park Resort and Wolf Creek Ski Area.

The Colorado Gems Card provides discounted skiing and snowboarding access to 11 of the state’s most authentic ski areas. For $25, the cards offers two two-for-one adult lift tickets or two adult lift tickets at 30 percent off. In total, this can provide up to 22 days of discounted skiing.
“Here at Colorado Ski Country, we think the Gems card is the best kept secret in skiing — it pays for itself after one use and gives holders a great opportunity to get out around the state to explore ski areas they may not have experienced,” Mills said.
