TELLER COUNTY, Colo. — Police are looking for a man accused of beating and killing two of his roommate’s dogs, dismembering one of them.

Matthew Stephen Dieringer, 30, from Pueblo, is wanted in a felony animal abuse case out of Teller County, according to release Tuesday from the Teller County Sheriff’s Office.

Dieringer is alleged to have beaten to death the victim’s two dogs -- a 7-year-old Australian cattle dog “Suka” and a black dog named “Hayoka,” who he is alleged to have also dismembered.

A necropsy confirmed Suka died of blunt trauma, the sheriff’s office said.

Authorities have issued a felony warrant for Dieringer on two counts of aggravated cruelty to animals.

Dieringer was last seen in the Manitou Springs area. The sheriff’s office said he may have dyed his hair a darker color.

If you have any more information on this case or any details about Dieringer’s whereabouts, you’re asked to contact Officer Trixie Hudspeth at 719-687-9652.
