DENVER – The housing market in the Denver area is one of the most competitive in the country, and that can make it hard to put in a winning bid on a home.
Prospective buyers often end up offering more than what sellers are asking for in order to beat out other bids.
In fact, nearly 21 percent of all homes sold in Denver in January sold for more than the listing price, according to real estate website Estately.
Here are the seven homes that sold for the biggest percentage over asking:
1. 3 bed, 1.75 bath on Osceola St. – sold for 25.3 percent more than asking price.
2. 2 bed, 1 bath on Monroe St. – sold for 16.2 percent more than asking price.
3. 3 bed, 1 bath on Utica St. – sold for 14.7 percent more than asking price.
4. 3 bed, 1 bath on Bellaire St. – sold for 14 percent more than asking price.
5. 4 bed, 1 bath on W. Ohio Ave. – sold for 13.6 percent more than asking price.
6. 3 bed, 1.75 bath on Eudora St. – sold for 12.4 percent more than asking price.
7. 4 bed, 2.25 bath on S. Wolff St. – sold for 10.9 percent more than asking price.
