DENVER — In response to help our state's medical professionals in need of more personal protective gear, a donation drive was held in the parking lot outside of Empower Field on Saturday.

It came together in a matter a couple of days with the help of state legislators and local non-profits. An effort they say is essential to fight coronavirus.

“Every day we’re getting requests from hospitals fire departments people like that, that are saying, 'hey, we’re running out of gloves, running out of masks or running out of the PPE stuff. We’re just using it at an unprecedented rate with all the people coming in,'” Project C.U.R.E. President and CEO Douglas Jackson said.

Organizers and volunteers were happy to see the number of people show up to help. They filled four trucks full of supplies, thanks to the help of the community.
