A Facebook page set up to help find a dog lost during the Cold Springs Fire in Boulder County says there has been a possible sighting.

Captain Charlie Schmidtmann was fighting the fire when he found his own home fully ablaze.

He thought his two dogs, Clyde and Geno, were inside and likely gone.

"Several hours later, his little yellow Labrador retriever, Clyde, ran into the road in front of the fire truck Charlie was driving, nearly causing him to crash in grateful surprise," Schmidtmann's wife, Bretlyn Murphy Schmidtmann, wrote on Facebook.

"I saw a tail walking through the woods and almost crashed the fire truck. I was so excited. It was Clyde," Charlie Schmidtmann told Denver 7.

However, Geno, a St. Bernard, is still missing.

Sunday, a woman living in Four Mile Canyon said she saw a large, wet, St Bernard on her deck last Friday.

"He had a collar on and when she went to reach for it to check his tags, he shied away from her," according to the Finding Geno Facebook page. "We have not had any sightings since, but this is the best lead we have received so far."

The Facebook group has created a Google map of the area that includes places where people have searched for Geno. They are asking others to help in the search and put up posters.

To download a poster, or get involved in the search, visit the Finding Geno Facebook page .

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help the Schmidtmanns replace their home and belongings.
