AURORA, Colo. — Traffic on Interstate 225 between East 6th Avenue and East 17th Avenue is moving again after an hours long shutdown Tuesday night due to a suspicious device investigation.

The Aurora Police Department tweeted Tuesday night that they were investigating a possible pipe bomb in the area. However, a few hours later a bomb squad determined the device was not a bomb.

During the investigation, both directions of the highway were shut down. It reopened just before 11 p.m.

It’s not clear if the suspected device was placed on the roadway or near the highway.
