BRIGHTON, Colo. – A pony is recovering after getting its head stuck in a manure spreading machine near Brighton Tuesday.

Firefighters responded to a property near East 149th Court and Almstead Street around 10 a.m.

It appeared the pony, named Izzy, got her head stuck between the bars of the machine and was trapped there overnight. The machine was not running at the time.

It took emergency crews about 15 minutes to free the animal from the machine.

Officials said Izzy was shaken but appeared to be doing fine, aside from a few lacerations on her face. A veterinarian was en route to the property to check her out.
