LOVELAND, Colo. — Authorities say speeding and alcohol may have led to a motorcycle crash that killed one person and severely injured another in Loveland Tuesday evening.
On Tuesday around 10:05 p.m., officers with the Loveland Police Department responded to the 2600 block of N. Boise Avenue after receiving a report of a motorcycle crash.
When police arrived at the scene, they discovered that a motorcycle carrying a woman and a man had been traveling northbound on N. Boise Avenue when it ran off the side of the road and crashed into a home's garage, police said.
The man, who was driving the motorcycle, was thrown from the vehicle. He was transported to the Medical Center of the Rockies with serious injuries. The woman, who was riding as a passenger, was also ejected and died at the scene, police said.
The police department's Technical Accident Investigation Team was called out to help with the investigation.
Based on preliminary reports, alcohol and speed were likely contributing factors to the crash, police said.
No charges had been filed as of Wednesday morning.
