LAKEWOOD, Colo. – A 1-year-old boy and his 14-year-old sister who went missing in Lakewood over the weekend have been found safe.
Police said Alexus Hailey Beyers, 14, took her brother Ronald Beyers III, 15 months, from a home in the area of Jay and Colfax Sunday afternoon.
The Colorado Bureau of Investigation said shortly before 1 p.m. Monday that the pair had been found safe.
Later Monday, a Lakewood Police Department spokesman told Denver7 officers had arrested their father, Ronald Dale Beyers, 39, on suspicion of child abuse charges. The spokesman said he was charged because he failed to notify police the two were missing for approximately 18 hours.
