Police are asking for the public's help to identify a snake stealer.

Authorities said the man walked into the PetSmart store in Glendale on January 31 and asked to see a piebald python.

The clerk said it appeared the man was going to buy the snake, but instead he walked out with the snake and didn't  pay for it.

The snake stealer is described as 25 to 40 years old, 5 foot 8 to 5 foot 10 inches tall, medium build, dark hair with a  tear drop tattoo under one eye and a snake tattoo under the other eye.

Police think while the man had a beard during the theft, he has likely since shaved it.

Police also think the same man may have stolen another snake at a PetSmart in Arvada.

If you recognize the man, call Glendale police at 303-639-4316.
