Police investigating string of carjackings on east side of Denver; one victim critical

DENVER — Police are investigating a string of carjacking robberies on the east side of Denver, and one victim, an elderly man, was left in critical condition, officials said Friday night.

The robberies happened Friday, beginning at about 11:50 a.m. in the 3300 block of South Oneida Street, where suspects stole a 2009 beige Hyundai sedan with the license plate 282SJH.

A second robbery happened about 3:35 p.m. in the 8300 block of East Fairmount Drive, where suspects stole a 2005 silver Jaguar sedan with the license plate 855LWB.

The third robbery, which happened in Denver's Park Hill neighborhood in the 2800 block of South Newport Street, resulted in a shooting that left the victim in critical condition. The suspects stole a 2009 black Mercury sedan with the license plate BAEB14.

Police on Friday night released pictures of the three people that investigators believe to be responsible in the incidents.
