COMMERCE CITY, Colo. – Police are investigating a road rage shooting that happened Thursday morning on Highway 2 near E. 72nd Ave.
Officers were called out to the area just after 8:30 a.m. after the road rage was reported involving two vehicles.
They determined that two people got into an argument near Kemp Elementary School and left in separate vehicles. One followed the other, and at one point, a person in a white Chevrolet Monte Carlo fired at least one gunshot from their vehicle, police said.
No one was injured in the shooting, however. But nearby schools were put on lockout while police responded and Highway 2 was closed during the investigation.
It was the second day in a row police in northeastern Colorado investigated a road rage shooting. On Wednesday, a man was arrested in Lakewood after he pointed a gun at another driver, police said.
Commerce City Police spokesperson Rob McCoy said the investigation into the shooting is ongoing.
