TRINIDAD, Colo. — A Trinidad man under investigation for computer crimes against a child is facing more questions and possibly more charges after police say they found human remains inside his apartment Tuesday.

Police identified the suspect Wednesday as 40-year-old Cameron Johnson-McCann.

Police, investigating an ongoing computer crime case possibly linked to a child pornography ring, were serving a search warrant at McCann's home when they discovered the remains stuffed inside a plastic storage tote, according to statements from the Trinidad Police Department,

The remains belong to that of an adult man. However, the condition of the remains is making identification difficult, police say. The cause and manner of death are still under investigation.

The suspect is being held without bond at the Las Animas County Jail on suspicion of internet sexual exploitation of a child. It's not clear if he has an attorney.

Authorities have not commented on whether McCann will face other charges related to Tuesday's discovery. Details of the child porn investigation have yet to be released.

The Colorado Bureau of Investigation has been called in to assist in the investigation and identification of the remains.
