AURORA, Colo. – Police are looking for a driver who they say left the scene after hitting and killing a pedestrian in a stolen pickup early Monday.

The crash occurred at the intersection of East Colfax Avenue and Kingston Street in Aurora.

Police said a driver in a stolen white Ford F-250 hit a pedestrian and then kept going. The pickup had Colorado license plates 297-PMQ.

Early in the day, police issued a Medina Alert asking people to keep an eye out for the truck. Later that day, police say they found the stolen vehicle burnt and unoccupied in Denver.

Police have yet to release details on the vehicle's recovery, but photographs of the vehicle show it was burnt from the inside before it was located.

Police are still searching for information. Anyone with information on this case is asked to call 911.
