Police chase ends with car ramming into Denver police officer's car in Wheat Ridge

WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. - A police chase ended Friday morning when the driver of the suspected stolen vehicle rammed into a police officer's patrol car.

The police pursuit began in Denver and ended near West 29th Avenue and Fenton Street in Wheat Ridge,  the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said.

A Denver7 photographer at the scene said there appears to be two police vehicles involved. One police vehicle went through a fence and another police vehicle has its tires slashed and a banged-up side panel.

Denver police have not said much about what happened, only that they were following a stolen vehicle and have made an arrest in the case.

The Jefferson County Sheriff's Office said two people were in the suspect vehicle. One person took off and remains at large and the other person was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries, said Jacki Kelley, with the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office.

It is not clear if the officer in the rammed patrol car is OK.
