DENVER — Denver's annual homeless count, call the Point in Time survey, is scheduled for the final Monday in January.
Starting at sundown on Jan. 28, 2019, and ending at sundown Jan. 29, 2019, hundreds of volunteers and agencies will spend 24 hours in Adams, Arapahoe, Boulder, Broomfield, Denver, Douglas, and Jefferson Counties to conduct a survey of homelessness.
The Point in Time survey is a nationwide count taken during the last 10 days in January. The information is used to determine the needs of people experiencing homelessness.
In 2018, volunteers in the Denver metro area counted 5,317 total people experiencing homelessness, with 1,308 of those people counted staying outside in places like tents, vehicles, parks or underpasses.
